FINAL BLOG

Final blog
Reflect on your semester and year in biology What were your successes? What were your failures?
What did you learn that you will never forget?

My successes in this year was my notebook.  My notebook was really good throughout the whole year and i always turned it in on time. My failures was finals because i bombed it.  I started to study too late and messed up my grades.  I still had an A though.  The things i learned that i will never forget is the dissection of everything we did.

Blog 15 .

Blog 14 Write a letter to Senator Feinstein describing what alternative energy source you think we should be pursuing. Give at least three reasons why.

Dear Senator Feinstein,
The alternative energy source we should be pursuing is the electricity lines.  Its easiest to do do that because you can get electricity right away.  The 3 reasons why that is best is since the wires give electricity manually. The second is since its the easiest way.  The third is since they are all installed in our homes already.

Blog 14 Which specimen that we have dissected so far seems most like humans? Why?

The most specimen that seems like humans are crayfish because it has parts in there seems like human particles.  It has 2 hands an abdomen and brains.  It has a shell to cover it like ourselves the skin. The crayfish also has legs like us.  The crayfish seems to look like us.

Blog 13 What was most interesting about this week's dissections?

The most interesting on this weeks dissection was the worm.  I never knew there was so much in a worm and that was the biggest worm I've ever seen in my life.  I saw all the insides of the worm and i was surprised it had so much parts in it.  Another interesting thing about this week was that we did so much dissections.  Fish, worm, and everything.  I'm looking forward to do more dissections.

Blog#12 What surprised you from the worm's dissection?
What surprised me from the worms dissection is how stiff the worm was.  I thought worms were easy to kill and open because they look so fragile.  They are squishy too so thats why i thought it would be easy to dissect.  The worm was pretty big as well i never knew there were worms that size.  It was a harder dissection project then i expected.

Get a picture of alternation of generations put it in your blog and explain how it relates to plants

The relations of alternation of generations to plants is compared because it goes through the steps of how a plant grows.  The female gametes, male gametes, mitosis, and fertilization all relate to growing a plant.  It goes through haploid generation and diploid generation.  Its like a cycle it just goes around thats how plants are grown.

Why is dissection an important part of a biology curriculum? Which animals and/or plants should be included in biological studies?

Go to fullsize imageDissection is an important part of a biology curriculum because it lets you learn about the insides of an animal.  It gives you the experience to see how the body structure of an animal is.  Animals that should be included to the biological studies are frogs and the plants are grass because those are normal to dissect on.  The biological studies are those that should be included in.
